Delaco Steel Corporation, a member of the Diez Group of companies, was formed in 1973 By Gerald Diez. After more than thirty years in the steel blanking and slitting industry, Delaco Steel, in association with it's affiliates, is now the largest minority owned blanking concern in the country. Delaco has two facilities in Dearborn, Michigan with a total floor space of over 600,000 sq. ft. The Tireman Avenue plant performs precision blanking, slitting and oscillating shear processing with nine blanking presses, three slitters and an oscillating shear. The Miller Rd. facility has seven precision blanking presses and two oscillating shears. In addition, Delaco maintains a warehouse in Buffalo, NY to service it's eastern US customers. Today Delaco Steel employees over 275 people in its facilities. Delaco Steel brings several unique capabilities to the blanking industry including the ability to handle large dies using presses with bed sizes up to 108" by 204". Special packaging requirements can be readily met and Delaco's information management system is fully Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) capable. To further expand it's customer support capabilities, Delaco Steel has formed joint ventures with Severstal North America for specific slitting opportunities, Kenwal Steel for Mid US and southern market blanking and slitting opportunities and most recently, with Kasle Steel to satisfy our customer's requests that Delaco expand into the exposed blank processing arena. As the blanking and slitting markets continue to grow, Delaco will be growing with them using a combination of wholly owned facilities and strategic joint ventures. |
